How to do it

  1. Place your hands on the edge of a sturdy table, bed or bench, a little wider than your shoulders.
  2. Walk your feet back until your body is in a straight line from head to heels.
  3. Bend your elbows and lower your chest towards the edge.
  4. Push back up until your arms are straight.

Breathing: Breathe in as you lower, breathe out as you push up.

How much to start with: 2–3 sets × 8–15 reps

❌ Common mistakes

  • Letting your lower back sag.
  • Flaring your elbows straight out.

⚠️ Safety

  • Make sure the table or bed cannot slide or tip over. Don't use anything with wheels.
