How to do it
- Stand with your back against a wall, feet about two feet out from it and hip-width apart.
- Slide your back down the wall until your knees are bent to about 90°. Going less deep at first is fine.
- Keep your knees directly above your ankles, not in front of your toes.
- Hold this position, then slide back up.
Breathing: Keep breathing steadily the whole time you hold — don't hold your breath.
How much to start with: 3 holds × 15–30 seconds, 30 seconds rest between
❌ Common mistakes
- Holding your breath.
- Pushing on your thighs with your hands for support.
- Standing too close to the wall so your knees push past your toes.
⚠️ Safety
- If you have high blood pressure, keep holds short (10–15 seconds) and never hold your breath. Wear shoes so your feet don't slip.
